Breakfast Meeting – Inaugural Philadelphia XPX Meeting
Join us for the inaugural breakfast meeting for the Philadelphia Exit Planning Exchange on September 15 at the Pyramid Club.
In recognition of the growing number of baby boom business owners who have reached the age of transition, a group of advisors founded XPX in Boston in 2005. The founders recognized that the skills that propelled entrepreneurs to build businesses were (1) different than those required to sell them, and (2) could get in the way of the transition process. The growth of the chapter, the founding of new ones, and interest from other locations, attest to the need for this focus of energy and intellectual capital.
XPX consists of advisors to business owners — CPAs, estate planning attorneys, consultants, investment bankers, wealth managers, valuation specialists, insurance and tax experts, mergers and acquisitions attorneys, and marketing specialists. The society provides programming and networking. The purpose is to help advisors learn to raise the topic of exit planning with their owner-clients and, through collaboration with other XPX members work with their owner-clients to prepare the owner for the transition of the business to the next owners.
The agenda for the event will consist of an introduction to this fast growing professional organization and a
presentation from a speaker who understands the exit planning process. Mario Ricciardelli, who is President and CEO of TUI Student Travel will present:
“From dorm room to public company buyout: Lessons learned along the way to a successful exit”
Mario will speak not only of his own successful exit, but as President of TUI Student Travel he will discuss the traits and trends he’s seen among the thirteen companies he has helped acquire over the last 6 years. Mario will enlighten the audience with his first-hand experiences around his own exit and of the owners whose companies he has acquired.
